The RedMagic 11 Air is a game-changer, packing a massive battery into a sleek package. But can it really offer the best of both worlds? Unveiled recently, this gaming phone boasts an impressive 7,000-mAh battery, a powerful cooling fan, and a feature set reminiscent of its predecessor, the RedMagic 10S Pro.
With a depth of 7.85mm and a weight of 207 grams, the 11 Air maintains a slim profile while being slightly heavier than its predecessor. Interestingly, it rivals the dimensions of the iPhone 16 Pro, but its specifications align more closely with the bulkier RedMagic 10S Pro, which weighed in at 229 grams and housed a 7,050-mAh battery.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, offering 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for $529, or a beefed-up 16GB RAM and 512GB storage option for $629. But here's where it gets exciting: the phone supports an astonishing 80-watt charging speed, a rarity in this price segment.
The camera setup is no slouch either, featuring a 50-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 16-megapixel selfie camera. RedMagic's focus on gaming is evident with its 6.85-inch OLED display, boasting a 144Hz refresh rate. However, the RedMagic 11 software system might be a point of contention, as it includes console-like gaming menus but also questionable features like an ad-supported default browser.
The 11 Air will be available in Phantom Black and Prism White, with early bird vouchers releasing on February 5, leading up to its official sale on February 11. Is this the ultimate gaming phone, or does its software hold it back? Share your thoughts below!
